YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Camila Neveleff scored a hat trick while
Emily Ober and
Regan Wilhite each found the back of the net twice as Young Harris College easily defeated Erskine College 8-1 in a women's soccer match Tuesday (Sept. 29) evening at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

Young Harris improved to 2-4-0 while the Flying Fleet slipped to 1-8-0. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Oct. 3) when they travel to Columbus, Georgia, for a 1 p.m. Peach Belt Conference match against No. 19 Columbus State University.

The game was delayed for 30 minutes due to lightning in the opening minutes of the match but it was the Mountain Lions that struck lightning, scoring the second-most goals in the program's history as a four-year institution.

Carly Rich got the offensive attack in motion for Young Harris as she scored in the 22nd minute off a double assist from
Sydney Baird and
Rachel Hill. The Mountain Lions doubled their lead 15 minutes on the first of two goals by Ober off a Rich assist.

Neveleff broke open the match with three goals in less than a seven-minute stretch in the final minutes of the first half and opening moments of the second half. Neveleff, who has three goals on the season, converted a ball sent in by teammate
Hanna Johnsson into a 3-0 lead at the 42:48 mark. Neveleff scored 102 seconds into the second half on a back from the right side and then converted an Erskine turnover into a 5-0 lead at the 49:15 mark.

Ober added her team-leading sixth goal in the 62nd minute before Jamie Morris got Erskine on the board with a goal from the top of the box at the 84:49 mark. Wilhite added her first two goals of 2015 in the final three minutes of the match off assists from Neveleff and
Alison Cox.

Young Harris, which saw 26 players seeing action against Erskine, had 23 shots overall with 18 on frame for the Mountain Lions.
Arielle Charles and
Kylie Mason each recorded three saves for YHC in net while Ashton Burgess (seven) and Abbigale Schmidt (three) combined to stop 10 shots for the Mountain Lions.
