No. 1 Pfeiffer advances past No. 16 Mountain Lions in NCAA Tournament

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. | Pfeiffer University defeated Young Harris College 3-0 in the third round of the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament Friday (Nov. 20) afternoon at the Rinker Athletic Campus.
 
The No. 1-ranked Falcons improved to 22-0-0 and will now face the winner of Friday's other third round game between host Palm Beach Atlantic University and Rollins College in a 1 p.m. quarterfinal match Sunday (Nov. 22). The 16th-ranked Mountain Lions finished their season at 17-4-0.
                                                                                            
Pfeiffer took a 1-0 lead at the 8:36 mark on Jaime Siaj's 15th goal of the season. The Falcons added goals by Nathan Regis (27) and Santi Moar (10) in the second half to close of the match.
 
Young Harris and Pfeiffer each recorded 10 shots in the match, including five on goal for both teams. Tomas Correa stopped five shots in goal for the Falcons while Jordan Bradshaw had two for the Mountain Lions.
 
The match was the final one for six Mountain Lions – Bradshaw, Jonas Sturesson, Paco Craig, Lewis Hilton, Tim Mohlin Torringer and Homero Perez. During their stay in the Enchanted Valley, the Mountain Lions went 66-11-3 (.843 winning percentage) and was ranked as high as No. 1 in the national. Young Harris won their third consecutive Peach Belt Conference championship and second straight PBC Tournament title in 2015 as the Mountain Lions earned their second consecutive trip to the national tournament.
