Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Weather halts Young Harris-Tusculum game

GREENVILLE, Tenn. – Weather played a huge factor Saturday night as the Young Harris College men's soccer team played Tusculum to a scoreless draw at Pioneer Field as the contest ended with a little more than three minutes remaining in regulation because of lightning.

The game was delayed for 68 minutes at the half because of lightning and officials stopped the match with 3:12 remaining because of the same issue as the match ended in a 0-0 tie.

Young Harris (0-2-2) out-shot the Pioneers (0-1-2), 19-9, and led on corner kicks, 7-1.

The best opportunity for the Mountain Lions came in the 43rd minute as James Thorpe's shot banged off the post, keeping the game scoreless.

Wezley Barnard recorded four saves in goal for Young Harris, while Andy Goellner had nine for Tusculum.

The Mountain Lions return to action by playing host 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14 against Tennessee Wesleyan at the YHC Soccer Field.
