Avram Allen

In the 2024 season, Avram Allen led the Mountain Lions to a 9-6-3 overall record and an 8-1-3 mark in Conference Carolinas; the Mountain Lions were crowned Southwest Division Champions. He surpassed his previous season’s success by guiding the team all the way to the quarterfinals, where they fell to Francis Marion. Key players under Allen’s leadership included Shania Harris, who scored 13 goals and accumulated 34 points (setting the Young Harris College women’s soccer record for points in a season), Betsy Bu, who netted 6 goals and earned 12 points, and Anita Roese, who contributed 4 goals and 9 points. 

In the 2023 season, Coach Avram Allen led the Mountain Lions women’s soccer team to a 9-6-4 overall record and an 8-4 mark in Conference Carolinas. He led the team to reach the first round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament, before falling to Barton College. Allen sculpted key contributors, in this season, which included Alexis Scarpinato, who scored 17 goals and totaled 26 points, Shania Harris, who netted 7 goals and earned 15 points, and Charlotte Brown, who scored 5 goals and accumulated 19 points. 

Allen led the Mountain Lions to the Peach Belt Conference Tourment in his first season and coached two first-team All-PBC selections - Alexis Scarpinato and Jhena Ellerbe. It was the first time in program history the Mountain Lions had two players named to the All-Peach Belt team.

Allen is no stranger to Young Harris as he played and coached for the Mountain Lions. He comes to the Enchanted Valley after serving as the head coach for Athletico Lanier of the National Premier Soccer League this season. His team advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament in 2021.He was also involved with the development of youth players and coaches, as he served as the Girls' Director of Coaching at Lanier Soccer Association.
 
Prior to Athletico Lanier, Allen served as an assistant coach  for seven years for of the University of North Georgia's men's soccer program. Allen returned to his alma mater as the full-time assistant men's soccer coach in 2014. While in Dahlonega, the Nighthawks finished as runner-up in the Peach Belt Conference regular season in 2016 and runner up at the 2017 PBC Tournament.

Prior to UNG, he served as assistant coach for the Young Harris women's soccer program in 2013 under the direction of YHC Athletics Hall of Fame coach Kathy Brown.

As a player Allen competed at YHC for two years (2006-07) before transferring to North Georgia. At YHC, he was captain of the 2006 Mountain Lion team that went to the GJCAA Region 17 finals earning two all-tournament team selections and all-region honors along the way. He was a two-year letter-winner at North Georgia as a midfielder garnering All-Peach Belt Tournament honors.

He received his bachelor's degree in physical education/health with a minor in leadership from North Georgia in 2010 and his master's degree in arts & teaching from UNG in 2015.  He holds a USSF "B" license as well as a United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma. 

Avram is married to Hannah Allen. They have two beautiful kids Londyn and Liam.
