Softball player Darby Stanford was honored as the 2014-15 Female Athlete of the Year at Young Harris College.

The junior pitcher from Alpharetta, Georgia, was recognized as Peach Belt Pitcher of the Week honoree once this season. The All-PBC second team performer led the Mountain Lions with 19 wins in 28 appearances this season with 24 complete games, three shutouts and a save. In 173 innings of work, Stanford has struck out 115. Stanford is ranked 31st in NCAA Division II with 19 wins. She is ranked fourth in the Peach Belt in wins, complete games, and games started (26), fifth in innings pitched, eighth in strikeouts and in appearances.
