Mathew Biwott has been named the Male Mountain Lion of the Week ending Oct. 25.

Biwott won the Peach Belt Conference Championship with a time of 25:49.5 on the 8K UNG Cross Country Course, a first in the program's history. The sophomore from Iten, Kenya, was in a two-man race with Augusta University's Nick Del Gurecio over the last half mile. Del Guercio moved ahead with under 300 yards to go, but Biwott, who was named to the All-PBC team, began a sprint to the finish to win by three seconds. Biwott's time was his second-fastest 8k of the season.

Young Harris tied its best-ever finish in the conference meet as they came in sixth place with 154 points in the race.
