Mathew Biwott has been named the Male Mountain Lion of the Week ending Sept. 27.
Biwott, who was named the Peach Belt Conference AstroTurf Runner of the Week, was the first PBC runner to cross the line at the Bulldog Stampede, covering the 8k course in 26.02.21. The sophomore from Iten, Kenya, was fourth overall in the 178-runner field, finishing 20 seconds behind the leader and 19 seconds ahead of his nearest PBC competitor. Running on the course that will host the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional, Biwott turned in the fastest 8k run in the PBC this season to date. He has finished in the top 10 in all three races he has run so far.
