Assistant Women's Soccer Coach Abe Tizaf

Abe Tizaf named assistant coach

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College women's soccer coach Avram Allen announced the addition of Abe Tizaf as the assistant coach for the Mountain Lions.

"I look forward to having coach Abe on my coaching staff," said Allen.  "He will fit right in with what we are trying to accomplish here at Young Harris. Coach Abe has great energy and a wealth of experience in this game. Adding coach Abe into our team culture is another huge step towards building a successful program."

Tizaf comes to the Enchanted Valley after spending six seasons as the head men's soccer coach at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, which is an NAIA institution located in Saint Marys-of-the-Woods, Indiana. He also was the head coach of the Pomeroy women's soccer team from 2016-18.

"I am very grateful to coach Avram for giving me the opportunity to serve as an assistant coach for the women's soccer team at Young Harris College," said Tizaf. "This role enables me to channel my passion towards cultivating an environment where our student-athletes can thrive both on and off the pitch. I look forward to contributing to their growth, helping shape them into not only superior athletes, but also well-rounded individuals. Here's to the start of an exciting journey."

Prior to coming to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Tizaf was the head boys soccer coach at Terre Haute South High School, where he led the team to a sectional championship in 2015. He served as the assistant coach at Flyers boys soccer club in Terre Haute, Indiana,

Tizaf also played 120 games professionally for KACM in Marrakech, Morocco, as a member of their senior league. He is a member of the Faith-Based Coaches Strategy Team, which focuses on developing the role soccer plays in one's faith journey. 

Tizaf earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Pascal Paoli University in 2008 and earned master's degrees in recreation and sport management (2014) and physical education (2016) from Indiana State University. He also earned his master's degree in leadership development from Saint Mary-of-the Woods in 2020.
