THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Thomas (Ga.) University held off Young Harris College 5-3 Sunday (Oct. 23) afternoon in a women's soccer match at the Wendy's Soccer Complex.
The Night Hawks improved to 8-6-1 while the Mountain Lions slipped to 9-4-1. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Oct. 29) when they travel to Athens, Tenn., for a 1 p.m. match against Tennessee Wesleyan College.
Haley Holderfield scored her team-high ninth goal of the season 5:49 seconds into the match. Emily Villas notched her sixth goal of the year off a Holderfield assist 12 minutes later. The Mountain Lions got their final goal with 3:42 remaining in the match when Kelsey Battle added her third goal of 2011.
