Mountain Lions clash with Golden Bears

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Four players scored three goals apiece as Kutztown University defeated Young Harris College 19-6 in a women's lacrosse match Tuesday (March 18) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

The Golden Bears improved to 1-2 while the Mountain Lions fell to 1-10. Young Harris returns to action Friday (March 21) when they travel to Spartanburg, S.C., for a 5 p.m. match against Converse College.

Jaclyn Kernohan and Marisa Martelli each scored twice for the Mountain Lions while Kaylynn Roach and Ivey Franklin each found the back of the net. Jordana Freitas assisted on two goals while Roach had one.

The Mountain Lions won 10 draw controls. Caitlin Pardus, Kernohan and Freitas each had two wins while Roach, Peyton King, Franklin, and Jade Smith had one apiece.  Anna Lummus and Sarah Nudelman each scooped up three ground balls as Young Harris collected 11 overall. Franklin added two while Martelli, Roach, and Kernohan had one each.

Nudelman recorded 13 stops in goal for the Mountain Lions.
