HAINES CITY, Fla. – Kaylynn Roach scored three goals for Young Harris College as American International College defeated the Mountain Lions 22-7 in a women's lacrosse match Wednesday (March 12) afternoon at Northeast Regional Park.
The Yellow Jackets improved to 3-1 while the Mountain Lions fell to 1-8. Young Harris closes out its Florida swing with a 7 p.m. match Saturday (March 15) against Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla.
Whitney McKay scored seven goals to lead American International while Riley Brennan added six more. Roach led Young Harris with three goals, while Jaclyn Kernohan and Marisa Martelli each added two scores.
American International held a slim lead in ground balls 13-9 while the Yellow Jackets held a 22-8 advantage in draw controls. Kernohan won four draw controls while Roach, Martelli, Ivey Franklin and Jordana Freitas each had one. Breanna Farmer, Kernohan and Sarah Nudelman each led the Mountain Lions with two ground balls.
Nudelman (nine) and Carter Moore (one) combined for 10 saves in goal for Young Harris.
