Mountain Lions, Knights battle in women's lacrosse

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Kimberly Neagle scored five goals as Gannon University recorded a 19-5 women's lacrosse victory over Young Harris College Saturday (March 8) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

The Knights improved to 1-2 while the Mountain Lions slipped to 1-6. Young Harris hits the road as they face Saint Leo University Tuesday (March 11) afternoon in Saint Leo, Fla.

Christie Valentine and Kelsey Bright added three goals each for the Knights, who held a 32-12 advantage in shots. Jaclyn Kernohan led the Mountain Lion attack with two goals while Jordana Freitas, Kaylynn Roach and Marisa Martelli each added one. Ivey Franklin had an assist for Young Harris.

Roach tallied three ground balls for the Mountain Lions while Freitas added two more as Gannon held a slim 15-9 advantage. Jade Smith and Peyton King registered two draw controls each for Young Harris. 

Sarah Nudelman recorded 10 saves in goal for Young Harris.
