Mountain Lions sign Matt Wright for next season
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Left-handed pitcher Matt Wright has signed to continue his academic and baseball career with Young Harris College beginning this fall head coach Rick Robinson announced today.
Wright, who hails from Manassas, Va., has been a three-sport athlete at Osbourn High School, earning four letters in baseball under head coach Keith Howell. Wright earned first team all-district honors and was an all-area honoree last season. He was also selected to play in the Mid-Atlantic Classic in 2011. Wright has played his summer baseball with the Richmond Braves National team.
"We are excited to bring Matt down from Virginia for next season." Robinson said. "Matt is a quality person who really has a chance to contribute, especially with his work ethic and projectable frame."
Off the field, Wright has been a member of Future Business Leaders of America, Latin Club and will receive an Advanced Diploma this year.
